Mosop Washington DC

MOSOP Washington DC is an organization of Ogoni ethnic nationality of Nigeria, their spouses and friends living in Washington metropolitan area - Maryland, Washington and Virginia. It is a non-political, not-for-profit organization seeking to advance the cause of the Ogoni people in areas such as education, health, environment, and culture as well as the welfare of its members.

We come together as a people with common cultural heritage, language, and tribal identiy to rub minds on how to assist ourselves, contribute to the society we live in, protect, defend and provide assistance to our Ogoni brothers and sisters who are liviing in our Ogoni motherland - Ogoni.

Our Commitment

Since our coming together as a people for purpose of being our brother's keeper, we strive to assist each other's welfare by directing ourselves to opportunities we can tap into in the United States of America, provide assist to ourselves, share together our times of joy and sorrow.

Toward this end we have surrounds each other with a brotherly love in time of need. We have demostrated our commitment to each even when it's against our individual interest

Through our constant meeting and discussion, we have identify few areas and projects we'll emback on in Ogoni nation that will be of benefit, empowerment and encouragement to our people back home. Such area and projects include education opportunites, support to the Ogoni youths, landmark project in Ogoni, health elightement campaign, advocacy program, etc.

We have registered the organization as a public coorperation in the state of Virginia, also have acquire our EIN from the IRS and in the process of acquiring our non-profit status for the IRS.

Our Vision

Once the non-profit status is acquire, we'll go for a full scale fundraising to enable us accomplish our set goals. We have set in place ahoc committee that we work with our executives to acomplish these.
